Ontario Guzzi Riders

. . . . are a loosely knit bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts who believe that Moto Guzzi motorcycles can provide a satisfaction of ownership and a joy of riding that few other motorcycles can. We tend to be mature riders who realize that spec sheets and race results don't tell the whole story, and we enjoy the company of like-minded enthusiasts, which is why the Ontario Guzzi Riders came into being..

AUGUST 2011 UPDATE

As you can tell, it’s been long time since our last proper update on this site.  We were not able to carry out any site maintenance for a while, but that has changed now.   Before we get into the full update, I just wanted to post the latest information on our rally which is coming up very soon.

First of all, food.

As last year, there will be a complimentary barbecue on the Friday night, and on the Saturday morning we’ll go for a breakfast ride, but this time it will be to a place that will be able to handle a hungry hoard of bikers! The breakfast was good last year, but the wait for some people was just a little too much.  Saturday night there will be a pig roast with a pot for donations prominent on the table.   As always, there will be snacks available in the bar between meals for late arrivals and those whose hunger just can’t be satisfied.

There will be live bands in the tavern on Friday and Saturday nights, and we’re hoping that Harmonica Bob will also make a return appearance.

For those tent camping, we’ve negotiated a deal with the Joli Voyageur campground and for two nights camping they will now charge $30.00.

And this year, Corsa Meccanica, the only Guzzi dealer in Toronto, will be coming to the rally and bringing demo bikes and lots of goodies.

Hope you all can make it, it looks like it’s going to be another great rally!

Hello everybody,

Just a quick, friendly reminder that the Ontario Guzzi Riders rally is coming up shortly, and we’re hoping that you will be able to attend and bring lots of friends.

Remember, you don’t have to ride a Guzzi, everyone will be welcome.

As you probably know, things are a little different this year. The rally site is in Lavigne, on the western end of Lake Nippissing, with the rally focal point being the Lavigne Tavern, run by Guzzi owner Guy Fortier.

There are three campsites within walking distance, the closest being Camp Raymond, but they only have one two bedroom cabin left for the weekend.

The next closest is the Joli Voyageur campground, which is the only choice for tent camping, at $22 per tent per night. They also have one cabin left with three beds.

The Campsite with the biggest choice of cabins is the Deluxe Camp. They have seven cabins with a variety of rooms and beds.

All cabins have full cooking facilities and are priced from between $140 to $210 per day. If there’s a group of you sharing the cost, this is a great way to go.

Although the campsites are close, we are looking into the possibility of providing a shuttle service for late night returns, if you know what I mean.

If you are tenting, or just don’t want to cook breakfast, there are a couple of recommended restaurants within a short ride, there are also several motels nearby in Verner or Sturgeon Falls, 8 or 15 miles (13 or 24 km) respectively.

If there are any prospective rally goers out there who want to get in touch with others to form a group for cabin rental, get in touch with me and I’ll try to get you all in contact.
