Ontario Guzzi Riders...

. . . are a loosely-knit bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts who believe that Moto Guzzi motorcycles can
provide a satisfaction of ownership and a joy of riding that few other motorcycles can. We tend to be
mature riders who realize that spec sheets and race results don't tell the whole story, and we enjoy the
company of like-minded enthusiasts, which is why the Ontario Guzzi Riders came into being..

Hot Off the Presses:  2014 Ontario Rally Report!!

For those suffering through a very long and cold winter, Phil Tunbridge has been kind enough to put
together a nice
rally report to help us remember what a great time we had last August.  Thanks, Phil!

here for the rally report!

2015 Ontario Rally Preparations

This year, our annual OGR rally will again be held in the town of Lavigne, ON, in beautiful West
Nippissing.  Dates have been set for August 28-30, 2015, as can be seen on our
event calendar, but
some folks will undoubtedly make the trip up earlier.  A rally flyer is in the works, but we'll post some
basic rally and accommodation information here, for those wanting to plan ahead.

For this year, the format will remain largely unchanged:

  • No rally fee
  • Complimentary burgers, sausages, etc., on Friday night
  • Pig roast on Saturday with donations gladly accepted.
  • Free live music at the tavern Friday and Saturday night – usually very good!
  • Camping this year, as with previous regional rallies, must be arranged by attendees

Camping Locations:

Elora Brunch Ride - May 3rd

Thanks to all who came out to enjoy good food and great company at our season opener on May 3rd.
We had a great turnout of about 20 OGRs, many joining us for their first event!  Luca took a great video
showing off a few of the bikes (including a couple of other brands), and it can be seen here:

Such a fun time!  Looking forward to seeing everyone for the upcoming ride to Havelock on May 17!

2015 OGR Rally Update

Getting closer!  Phil took a trip up to Lavigne, this week, and provided a great update:

"This year’s Ontario rally is basically going to follow the same format as previous years except that
we've put in a request for better weather this year!

There will be the usual complementary BBQ on Friday evening at the Tavern, and the evening’s
entertainment will be provided by the Cecile Doo-Kingue Band, a very good blues band from Quebec.

Saturday morning, Rodney and Carole at the Joli Voyageur campground, will be putting on a buffet
style breakfast for a small charge, even for rally goers who do not stay there. To quote Rodney; “There
may even be an omlette station!”

After breakfast there will be a choice of rides:

Guy will be leading a scenic ride that will take three or four hours and probably include a stop for lunch.
We are also trying to get Tim Yntema to lead a ride for those Stelvio, Quota, BMW GS, etc. owners who
would like something a little more adventurous. Nothing too challenging, but probably best not tackled
on a California.  Or there are plenty of places to go on your own and I’m sure the locals will be glad to
suggest places of interest.

Saturday evening there will be the usual pig roast at the Tavern and after the meal and awards
ceremony, entertainment provided by the Sarah Smith Duo, who I’m told sound a lot like Melissa

For those who prefer their evenings a little quieter, there will be a bonfire at the Joli Voyageur where
Rodney, Carole, Klaus and Keith will probably provide most of the entertainment!

It should also be noted, since there is no longer a gas station in Lavigne, that emergency premium
gas is now available at the JV.

Finally, the New Cumberland rally in West Virginia will shortly be upon us (Memorial Day weekend, the
weekend after Victoria Day), and I thought I should point out that this rally is only 550 km from Toronto.
A fairly easy one day ride, and is a great event to kick-off the Guzzi rally season.  So, check out the ride
calendar and hope to see you all at one, or more, of the Guzzi rallies this season!"

Thanks, Phil!  Last of all, I would like to remind everyone of our upcoming day-ride to Havelock.  We've
put together a nice route that runs north of Sturgeon and Pigeon Lakes, which should provide us with
lots of beautiful scenery, and some nice winding roads to enjoy.  Lunch will be at Woody's in Havelock
(they have great burgers), and then we'll take a more direct route back.

Details of the meet time and location can be found on our
event calendar!
